Used mine many times. Its great and I have never had the need of using the purge valve because is always dry. I don't even know if it works...

doesn't leak at all, but feels like the thing is being crushed when I dive under with it. On the surface with SCUBA gear, I don't suck seawater in rough seas swimming back to the boat. Best snorkel ever.
