|
Testing indicates that earlier material and a new harder molded part eliminates any possibility of extrusion. Oceanic urges all owners of Oceanic DVT type regulators that were purchased between Nov. 1, 2012 and Jun. 10, 2013 to go online to verify if their serial number was affected. Go To → http://dvt.oceanicworldwide.com/If your serial number is listed on the website or your Oceanic DVT type regulator was serviced between Nov. 1, 2012 and May 14, 2013, take your regulator to your Oceanic Service Center to perform a parts retrofit at no charge to you. No other Oceanic regulators were affected. WARNING: DISCONTINUE USE of the Regulator First Stage until it receives a Retrofit. Only Authorized Oceanic Dealers and their trained service technicians can perform this Retrofit. Non-authorized persons who attempt the Retrofit procedure risk voiding the product’s warranty and rendering the product dangerously unsafe for SCUBA use. Thank You! |

Affected are Oceanic ATOM 2.0 Wrist Watch Dive Computers having serial numbers 1 through 2079 that were sold between August 2006 and February 2007, and are being used for diving activities that include use of multiple gas mixes not associated with multiple transmitters. Testing and evaluation has shown that this can occur if the control button used to switch Gases during a dive is depressed too long (4 seconds instead of the 2 seconds required to perform the operation) or it is pressed multiple times for 2 seconds when a Gas Switch operation is performed when there are multiple Gases (FO2 mixes) but not multiple Transmitters. Engineering programmers have modified the software of the ATOM 2.0 to prevent the Switch-to screen from locking on the display. WARNING: DO NOT CONTINUE USE of the dive computers for multiple gas switching activities until the software is upgraded. Only Authorized Oceanic Dealers and their trained service technicians must perform this upgrade. Non-authorized personnel who attempt the upgrade procedure risk voiding the product's warranty and rendering the product dangerously unsafe for SCUBA use. To access / view the serial number / firmware revision number screen while in Watch Mode:
Depress the M (upper/left button) for 2 seconds to access the NORM Surface Main screen, the simultaneously depress the A (lower/left) and S (upper/right) buttons 4 times (2 seconds each time). Locate an Authorized Oceanic Dealer closest to you. Instructions for returns direct to the factory. Should you have any questions, please contact our toll free Recall Helpline at (888) 854-4960 or locally at (510) 562-0500 between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday Pacific Time. |
