VT 4.0

In response to input received from users of the VT 4.0, Oceanic has modified the several items to improve the VT 4.0’s operation. Users may upgrade their VT4.0's firmware (operating software program) to newly released revision 1B02 using the Check for new Firmware Update feature of the latest OceanLog PC interface program.  There is no need to return the unit to Oceanic.

EXPLANATION
In response to input received from users of the VT 4.0, Oceanic has modified the following items to improve the VT 4.0’s operation:

    • Edited information that is to appear on the screen during Buddy Pressure Check when the buddy is out of range during the time that the check is made, subsequent to having made the check previously.

      "The graphic message BUDDY 1 (or 2) NOT AVAILABLE is now displayed instead of the graphics BUDDY 1 (or 2) PRESSURE with the previous value received."

    • Reduced the time required to acquire a Buddy link signal, which was as long as 16 seconds (10 seconds minimum), to less than 10 seconds (1 second minimum).

    • Eliminated flashing of ATR digits which occurred upon return of the Main Dive screen after a Buddy Pressure Check.

    • Eliminated repeat of the Deco alarm which occurred upon return of the Deco Main screen after a Buddy Pressure Check.

    • Eliminated intermittent display of dashes in place of pressure during Buddy Pressure Check.

  • Eliminated a number 1 digit which carried over from ATR on the Dive Main screen to Compass Mode.

UPDATE PROCESS
Units affected are the VT4.0 model containing previous firmware revision 1A01.

In the event that you have experienced any of the above, or you want to be sure they don’t occur, you can update your VT4.0’s firmware (operating software program) to newly released revision 1B02 using the Check for new Firmware Update feature of the latest OceanLog PC interface program.  There is no need to return the unit to Oceanic.
