DVT Quality Alert

dvt Oceanic has received isolated reports of DVT assemblies using a specific batch of DVT plungers extruding. Testing and analysis indicates that this occurs when the First Stage is only partially depressurized prior to the removal from the cylinder. Back pressure from the instrument console could cause the DVT Plunger to extrude.

Firmware Update (Rev 1E.04) for OC1
Wrist Watch Dive Computer

 Oceanic Customer Service has received several OC1 units that were returned from product owners who experienced similar problems with display of dive mode information. Upon descending on a repetitive dive, while in Watch mode, tank Pressure and calculated information associated with Pressure (such as Air Time Remaining) were missing from the usual dive mode screens. Users may upgrade their OC1’s firmware (operating software program) to newly released revision 1E.04 using the Check for new Firmware Update feature of the latest OceanLog PC interface program.  There is no need to return the unit to Oceanic.

EXPLANATION
In response to input received from owners and users of the OC1, Oceanic has corrected or modified the following item to improve the OC1's operation:

  • Improved the contrast of the LCD which displayed the segmented digits and icons slightly dimmer than the dot matrix portion.

UPDATE PROCESS
Units affected are the OC1 containing previous firmware revisions.

In the event that you have experienced the above, or you want to be sure that it doesn't occur, you can update your OC1's firmware (operating software program) to newly released revision 1E.04 using the  

heck for new Firmware Update feature of the latest OceanLog PC interface program.  There is no need to return the unit to Oceanic.
