Marketing Coordinator (San Leandro, CA, United States)

We’re looking for a rock star. Do you live and breathe social media? Can you manage a Magento site? Can you edit HTML, manage email lists, handle customer correspondence, stay organized amidst chaos and always have a can do attitude? Yes? Because that’s what we’re looking for.  Take a look at the breakdown below and if you fit the bill. You have to be local to the San Francisco Bay Area in California and an interest, or knowledge of, SCUBA diving doesn’t hurt.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Expertise in Twitter and Facebook; strong knowledge of Google+, YouTube, Instagram, other social network platforms and Wordpress blogs. 2 years of experience required.
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient with Google Apps and/or Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of website practices and social media best practices is helpful
  • High-level of organization and meticulous attention to detail (a must)
  • Lives and breathes digital/online media
  • Self-starter and motivated. Ability to solve problems independently and as part of a small team
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate Photoshop & HTML skills
  • Maturity, enthusiasm, and a high level of commitment
  • Familiarity with content management systems a plus
  • Multitask effortlessly, juggling several projects at a time
  • Proofread and edit their own work for grammar, style and content accuracy
  • Collaborates well in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment

Job Duties:

  • Web Content Management
    • Create, edit, test, and remove products (pricing, images, copy)
    • Create, edit, test, and remove dealers from dealer locators
    • Gather product information and verify that specifications are correct
    • Intermediate understanding of HTML to code static pages
  • Website Project Management & Development
    • Define requirements for web projects
    • Track and manage progress of external service providers
    • Testing & verification
    • Coordinate international project development
  • Training
    • Train internal employees on new systems and processes
    • Create reference materials
  • Track progress, traffic, successes, and ROI through analytics
  • Partnerships & Sponsorships
    • Identify key individuals, groups, and organizations within the Scuba/watersports industry
    • Evaluate how all parties can collaborate and benefit from an official relationship
    • Manage relationships by ensuring and verifying that terms are met from both sides
  • Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Forums)
    • Find & create content
    • Scheduled posts, targeted posts, promoted posts
    • Ask questions to spark discussion & engagement
    • Engage with fans through discussions, customer service questions, and directing technical support inquiries
    • Run contests & giveaways
      • Research different services (wildfire, offerpop, etc) in order to pick the most appropriate one, factoring in features & cost
  • Email Marketing
    • Execute email marketing to industry media professionals, dealers, internal/external company representatives and consumers
    • Working through an external service provider
    • Management of Email templates and recipient lists
    • Create email content from a PSD
  • Customer Service
    • Receive and respond to questions and feedback from the websites
    • Act as the voice of the user for both products & services
  • Sales Materials Management
    • Support the development and distribution of marketing and sales material
    • Maintain the file structure and organization of the Media Server
    • Ensure that all folders & files are up to date
    • Respond to users inquires in a timely manner
  • Marketing strategies
    • Develop and execute new strategies targeting both dealers and consumers
  • Product photography and videography for catalogs, web, advertisements, tradeshows, etc.
